Support for Infobreaker and URLStrip

Both Tacita Labs apps are built to be simple, local, and honest about what they can prove. If something is not working, this page explains the best way to get help for each app.

Quick help

For Infobreaker (data broker removal, public beta), email infobreaker@tacitalabs.com.

For general URLStrip support, email hello@tacitalabs.com.

If you are reporting a missed URLStrip tracker, see the missed-parameter FAQ or email submissions@tacitalabs.com.

Infobreaker support

Infobreaker is in public beta, and support is best-effort. We aim to acknowledge high-priority reports within two business days, but there is no service-level agreement. The highest-priority reports are disappearing work, counts that do not reconcile to evidence, unredacted support data, and claims without evidence.

The most useful reports come from inside the app:

  • Settings → Copy Support Info shares app, platform, Chrome, database, and automation-version details without profile data.
  • Settings → Report Problem creates a redacted support report you can review before sending. Use it instead of raw debug folders or screenshots with personal information.

The Infobreaker beta guide explains what to test, what to report, and how the statuses work. The Infobreaker Beta Terms cover the beta disclaimer and support boundary, and the Infobreaker Privacy Notes cover what stays on your device.

Email Infobreaker reports to infobreaker@tacitalabs.com.

URLStrip support

URLStrip cleans links entirely locally with verifiable output. If something is not working, or if URLStrip misses tracking in a link, here is how to get help.

Report a missed tracker

If URLStrip leaves tracking parameters behind, you can report the link by email. On macOS and Windows, URLStrip may also offer a built-in reporting flow. On iOS and iPadOS, URLStrip links to this website for reporting guidance instead of generating an in-app email report, mailto report, or shareable report body.

Useful reports include:

  • The original URL.
  • The cleaned URL URLStrip produced.
  • Your platform.
  • Your app version.
  • How you cleaned the URL.
  • How many parameters were removed.
  • What type of parameters were removed.
  • When it was cleaned.

Additionally, it is recommended that you include information on what was missed and how you know it is a tracking parameter.

Email missed-tracker reports to submissions@tacitalabs.com.

Please do not send links that contain private information unless you are comfortable sharing them for debugging.

Common troubleshooting checks

If you encounter a problem, please check the following prior to submitting a support request:

  • Make sure you are using the latest version of URLStrip.
  • If the Safari Extension is not working, confirm it is enabled in System Settings > Safari > Extensions > URLStrip.
  • If QR scanning does not work, confirm camera access is allowed for URLStrip.
  • If QR image import does not work, confirm photo access is allowed.
  • If a link does not change after cleaning, it may not contain tracking parameters URLStrip currently recognizes. If you think URLStrip missed something, send a missed tracker report manually.

Privacy note

URL cleaning happens on your device. URLStrip does not require an account, does not use a cloud link-cleaning service, and does not collect your browsing history or cleaned-link history.

Support emails and missed-tracker reports are different from normal URL cleaning. Normal URL cleaning stays on your device. If you choose to send an email, Tacita Labs receives the information included in that message so we can respond or improve URLStrip.
