About

Practical privacy tools, built with a local-first bias.

Tacita Labs is focused on software that helps reduce unnecessary data exposure without creating another account, another dashboard, or another place your information has to go.

What Tacita Labs is

Tacita Labs is a privacy-focused software effort centered on practical tools for normal people. The public focus right now is URLStrip, a free utility that removes tracking parameters from links before they get opened, saved, or shared.

The goal is not to build a giant platform. The goal is to make useful software that solves a real problem cleanly and does not ask for trust it does not need.

Who is behind it

Jim O'Gorman spent nearly two decades helping build Offensive Security, working across leadership, training, product, operations, and community as the company grew through two exits.

Tacita Labs is the privacy-focused chapter that follows that work, aimed at practical tools that ordinary people can actually use.

How the work is approached

Local-first where it matters. Plain language where it should be. Conservative trust assumptions whenever possible.

If a privacy tool can work without sending more user data to another service, that is usually the better path. That is the bias behind the work here.
